May 23, 2017 Sound of the Warriors,

First I would like to thank all of you for your hard work and commitment this year. I believe that the coming year will be even better. I look forward to getting started on the marching season when school comes back around. The show this year is entitled “UPRISING” using both popular and classical music.

As you know, in order to be properly prepared for the marching season, the band must start rehearsals early. Please wear comfortable, cool clothes and tennis shoes with socks to camp. Please read the following information carefully.

July 31st Full Band 9:00 – Noon

August 1 -3 Full Band 9:00 – 11:00 (Marching)

11:00 – 1:00 (Music)

August 7 -9 Full Band 9:00 – 11:00 (Marching)

11:00 – 1:00 (Music)

August 9th Full Band(Tentative) 5:00 pm Concert and Show Preview Cookout (Stadium)

When school starts we will begin our early morning and night rehearsal during the marching season. This will be solidified by the time we start summer band. With new uniforms coming we will get those checked out as soon as they are available. We will also be getting performance wear by Under Armor for practice and to wear under the uniform. The estimated cost for that will be 25.00 and will be required by all members of the band.

We realize that there could be a conflict with other school organizations and late summer vacations regarding camp. If there is a conflict, let us know immediately so alternate lesson times can be arranged. There is always a dramatic difference in skill level between the ones who attend band camp and the ones who do not.

Please do not underestimate the importance of YOU attending band camp. I firmly believe band camp is a good indicator of the success you will enjoy during the marching season. If you know of anyone who has moved to Glenpool this summer, bring them with you to camp! Remember you are the best recruitment person for the band. If you have any questions please email or
